1066 Games, LLC is the independent studio making The Quiet Empire, a hex-based 4X strategy game built in Unity for Windows, macOS, Linux / Steam Deck, Android and the browser.
The studio is led by CEO Matthew Candler, who has been making games for 30 years.

Why we’re making The Quiet Empire
Every strategy community has the game it never stopped playing. For a lot of us, that game had a hex map, one unit per tile, and a thousand hours of “one more turn”... followed by a thousand forum posts about what should have been different.
We started The Quiet Empire because we couldn’t find the version we wanted. We played everything on the market. None of it was the game in our head. Nobody was coming back to fix it. So, that’s what we are doing.
